About Sabrina:

I view myself as a companion and guide to those who wish to explore their shadow selves.

About My Clients:

What is your life story so far?  When reflecting on your past, are you self-critical about your choices?  Do you struggle with people-pleasing, self-image, and your identity?  My goal is to help you make sense of your past so that the wisdom you already contain can be used to allow you to live joyfully in the present, to be able to sit with emotions without overwhelm, and understand the purpose of your losses, suffering, and pain.

My Background and Approach:

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as an evidence-based foundation to my approach, adding in liberally from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Self-Compassion, EMDR/Trauma Therapy, and Existential Therapy.

My clinical experience has occurred in a variety of settings and age groups: partial hospital, intensive outpatient, residential treatment, travel case management, insurance case management, and private practice.  I have worked with people from age 8-98.  In terms of severity of conditions, I have assisted with helping clients who had serious and persistent mental illness, including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression.

My experience has been broad and has allowed me to work with so many different types of clients.  It has increased qualities I already had like flexibility, curiosity, and empathy; it has also given me practice in managing expectations, and teaching acceptance.

My Personal Beliefs:

I believe:
-all humans have innate worth
-we all should lead with kindness and respect, always
-commit to action, not outcomes
-you are the expert on yourself
-everything in therapy is optional; however, if you want homework & accountability, you will receive it
-cultivating a mindfulness practice is tough but worthwhile
-there is value in the struggle
